First year: Mark down significant chicks and girls. Talk to them and linger around them.
Second year: Steady with University life, start tackling the marked targets based on trial-&-error.
Third year: Once gained a successful target, things get steady. For those who failed on every trial, that’s it!
True or not, you can observe them by yourself. I’ve seen a few samples in my college. So, this pattern is generalized.
